5 Ways that Effectively Increase Followers on Instagram
I help entrepreneurs and fashion bloggers in building their brand and growing their audience on Instagram.
These are proven ways to increase your Instagram followers: A view from someone who works every day on Instagram.
1. Like random pictures
In my experience, whenever I like 100 pictures, at least there are 10 that likes back and follows (estimate only). So the more you like, the more followers and likes you should have.
Note: I’m not using my account, too busy to increase my own followers, but I guess I should spend more time on that.
2. Collaborate with other fashion bloggers who have higher numbers of followers
In this case, I believe in the cliche, “two are better than one“.
What we are after here is the exposure a partnership may bring. The higher the number of followers your partner has, the more exposure you will have. This doesn’t mean that if you have a higher number of followers you won’t benefit at all in the partnership. I strongly believe that collaborations are symbiotic relationship since you have different audiences.
How to do it? For me, there are two general ways for you to collaborate with other bloggers – spend or not to spend a penny.
The first one comes in the form of a raffle, loop giveaway, giving of gift cards and so on. The second one is just being featured on other Instagram feed because you’re helping them clean their wardrobe, etc.. I tell you both ways are effective and I have seen the growth.
3. Get an influencer (person or company) to mention you!
Having a famous friend/client makes a difference. If you can make them mention you, you simply open the gate for possibilities that their followers will check your profile and follow you.
4. More effort on photos, please!
So, someone asked me. She said, “We use the same technique to increase followers why do I have a slower growth than you do?”
The number of people that follow depends not on one factor only. It depends on so many factors. One of those is the quality of your photos.
You should have good quality photos. It is very important that you know why you’re posting, and who you’re posting for. For fashion bloggers, it is also highly suggested to use faces in your photos. They work 40% higher on engagement and sales than board post.
5. Do not underestimate the power of hashtags
Research the popular hashtags in your niche. Use it properly in your post. For instance, you don’t have to say #LTKSaleAlert if it was not on sale.
For fashion bloggers, the most popular ones are #liketkit, #wiw, #whatiwore, #wiwt, #ootd, #ootdmagazine, #ootn, #fashionblog, #fashionblogger, #fblogger, #styleblog, #styleblogger, #style, #fashion.
Just a friendly reminder, do not over use hashtags. It is important to have a hashtag strategy and check if the ones you’re using are not banned or restricted.
